Hygiene matters
Because SHINE products include personal care and feminine care items, opened, used, or tampered-with items may not be accepted for change-of-mind returns.
Damaged or incorrect orders
If an item arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or materially different from what was ordered, the customer should contact SHINE as soon as possible.
Keep packaging
Customers should keep the original packaging, order confirmation, and clear photos where relevant.
Fair handling
Eligible returns, exchanges, replacements, or refunds will be assessed in line with this policy and applicable South African consumer protection law.

Hygiene-sensitive products.
Due to the nature of feminine care, menstrual care, personal care, and wellness-related products, SHINE may not accept returns for products that have been opened, used, damaged after delivery, unsealed, tampered with, or are no longer in a resellable condition — unless the product is defective, damaged on arrival, incorrect, or the law requires otherwise.
If something arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect.
If a product is damaged on arrival, defective, incorrect, missing from the order, or materially different from what was purchased, the customer should contact SHINE through the Contact page.
When contacting SHINE, please provide:
- Full name
- Order number, if available
- Product name
- Clear photos of the product and packaging, where relevant
- Short explanation of the issue
Change-of-mind returns.
Because of the personal-care nature of the products, change-of-mind returns may only be considered where the product is unopened, unused, sealed where applicable, undamaged, and in its original condition and packaging.
Final approval depends on inspection and applicable law. Delivery or return courier costs may apply unless the return is due to an error, defect, or issue caused by SHINE.
Refunds, replacements, and exchanges.
Where a return is approved, SHINE may offer a suitable remedy depending on the situation, which may include:
- Replacement of the product
- Exchange for a suitable alternative
- Refund to the original payment method
- Store credit, where appropriate and agreed
When a return may not be accepted.
- Products that have been opened, used, or tampered with
- Products damaged after delivery
- Products returned without reasonable proof of purchase
- Products not purchased from SHINE With Dignity
- Hygiene-sensitive items that are no longer suitable for resale
- Change-of-mind returns where the product is no longer sealed or in original condition
This does not limit any rights the customer may have under applicable law.
How to request a return or refund.

- Choose Order Support.
Select Order Support in the SHINE Contact Concierge.
- Share the order details.
Include the relevant order information and a description of the issue.
- Wait for guidance.
SHINE will review the request and guide the next step.
Important notes.
- Items should not be sent back without first contacting SHINE.
- SHINE may request photos or further details before confirming the next step.
- Returned products may be inspected before a refund, replacement, or exchange is approved.
- Refunds, where approved, will usually be processed using the original payment method where practical.
